Of Grammatical Hook

....and it all started because thewronghands wenched me with The Faery Reel. Which had an absolutely delicious Hook story in it. Which inspired me to write more of my own Hook story. Which then led to watching the 2003 remake of Peter Pan with the fiendish Jason Isaacs doing a dazzling job of Hook. Which caused me to listen more closely to what he was saying in his random streams of cursing.

Which is how I noticed (or imagined) that one of his curses is "Split my infinitives!"

Hee. Grammatical Hook. Or linguistic Hook, really, since he's flouting one of the classical "grammatical" rules (which is really due to Latin-envy, anyway).

And why am I now seeing a skit between Hook and Jack Saprrow?

Because you've peeked into the minds of a couple of fanfiction.net writers? [grin]

The only fanfiction.net writer I know is you.
Though I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gone thorugh all the permutations of "pirate A" meets "pirate B".
