Erk.

...for Smarch (the period during which Things Go Wrong Lots (TM) between the end of February and the beginning of April) has struck again.

My dance partner of about 3 and a half years told me today that he did not want to be dance partners anymore.

I rather expected he might say something to this effect, especially since he's not so much on the competitions and I have a newly-acquired competition partner. And it'll be easier not to have to coordinate with two dance partners. Also cheaper, since the long-time partner was the one I used to take private lessons with.

And yet...gaaaaah! Another break-up of a long-time relationship! (Though at least it was only dancing and not romantic this time, I suppose.)

But still...stupid Smarch.

Man. Such a Smarch I am having. We should have a phone call of +2 Bitching sometime soon. [rueful grin] When's good for you?

I'm sorry about your dance partner. Will your new partner be okay with the sorts of things that you want to do for dance?

[grin] How's later on tonight for you? I could completely do with a +2 Bitching session.

Thanks. :) Yeah, the new partner is actually really spectacular. The only unfortunate part is that he's leaving for music graduate school in the fall, so we only have about 5 months or so to be partners.

Hurrah for spectacular, at least! Enjoy it while you've got it!

Later on tonight works great for me. I'll be at the gym from about 9:15 to about 11 Pacific, but other than that I don't have much in the way of planning. I get off work at 6 PM Pacific. When is good for you?

Exactly so! [grin]

Hmm - perhaps after you get off of work and before gym-ing for +2 Bitching session? Say around 6:30ish-7pm Pacific?

Darned dance partners not wanting to partner anymore... had that issue myself. *hugs* Miss dancing with you and seeing you... at least you and Doug have 5 months of really great dancing ahead of you. Hope to see you Saturday night.

Hah! Too funny, I was about to mention Smarch in a posting and here you are mentioning the same. I managed to avoid it for all but the last week though, so I guess it hasn't hit me that bad this year.
.......
*hoping she's not tempting the Smarch fairies too much*

It's the other dance partner, but I think I'm going to manage to be free that weekend, anyway. :: plot plot scheme scheme ::

When I was living in Wisconsin, the belief was that there were six seasons.

Spring
Summer
Fall
Branch
Winter
Mud

Branch was inbetween Fall and Winter. All the leaves were off of the trees, yet the blanket of snow had not yet come to cover everything.

Then Mud would come between Winter and and Spring. The snow had left, leaving behind this cold wetness, yet the grass and flowers hadn't really come into their own.

Yeah ... we were really imaginative with our naming in Wisconsin.

Branch and mud were the hardest seasons to cope with, mainly because they were usually (somewhat) lifeless transitional states. Winter, with its snow, had a vitality to it that could be relaxing. While the body and the mind were ready for the next season, these two seasons would linger, sometimes for too long a time.

Not coincidentally, we noticed that most of the break-ups that would happen between people usually happened during this time as well.
