Imperatrix Strix
I've noticed that I often see my linguistic things under the all-encompassing metaphor of warfare. (This, after I realized I had informally titled my acquisition term paper "Null Subject Battle Paper"). There aren't papers and experiments - there are brilliant attacks and ruthless thrusts and clever defenses and deft manueverings. There are no simple responses - there are glorious victories, blazing triumphs, ignoble defeats.
Perhaps this is a sign that I really should have pursued a different occupation. Of course, since my strategy skills are often hilariously lacking, perhaps it's best I stick to linguistic metaphoric warfare.
